The principle behind this series is to create geometric shapes from photographs of natural elements (mainly proxi-photos of plants and/or insects).
These new creations illustrate the projection of mathematical structures onto reality that the ‘scientific look’ cannot avoid making in its attempt to describe and understand the real world. Galileo wrote the famous phrase “The book of nature is written in mathematical language”, but does this mathematics really come from reality itself, or only from its interaction with the human eyes?
The series is then presented as a naturalistic catalog, but one of another world in which geometric shapes and symmetries are omnipresent! Wouldn’t this be the world of theoretical physicists, for example?
